About Us

Swing Soleil is an acoustic, swing-jazz manouche band based in Santa Fe, New Mexico. This four-piece quartet plays music ranging from 20th century gypsy jazz to swing standards by composers such as Django Reinhardt, Stephane Grappelli, Pearl Django, Neil Andersson, and many others. They play with good humor and love for the music—seeking to inspire that in audiences of all kinds.

Noted for their fun performances, unique arrangements and stellar musicianship, band members include Patrick Longmire on lead and rhythm guitar, Hilary Schacht on violin and voice, Charlie Freeman or Steve Simon on rhythm guitar, and Charlotte Overby on bass. You can hear them at many of Northern New Mexico's best live music venues—or see them perform at various private events and parties.

Members of Swing Soleil have performed professionally in the U.S. Southwest since the 1990s, with ensemble members having also shared the stage with many notable performers including David Grisman, Gonzalo Bergara Quartet, Tony Rice, Mark O’Connor, Vassar Clements, Alison Krauss, Le Chat Lunatique, Hot Club of Phoenix, and other great artists.
